SudREN

 The Sudanese Research & Education Network (SudREN) is an online resource of great value to those interested in higher education in the Republic of Sudan. Founded by Sudan’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in 2004, SudREN is now operated under an NGO.

 Its mission is help coordinate networking and connectivity among Sudan’s educational and research institutions. By promoting electronic connectivity, SudREN helps to prevent waste through duplication of effort.  The most important part of this mission is to be achieved through online connection; when member institutions can network with each other, resources can be shared and research enhanced. The higher aim, then, is sharing a diversity of knowledge and collaborating on future research.

 SudREN currently has twenty-eight (28) members, including the University of DalanJ, the University of Kordofan, and the University of Khartoum.  Its website also serves as a telephone directory for all member institutions.
