I just read a story about another amazing mom, and I had to share it with you. Is Free Stuff Truly Free?

While I appreciate a good sale as much as anyone, it’s the “buy three, get two free!” or “spend fifty dollars, get ten dollars free!” sorts of offers that make me pause. Usually I see these things when I’m out to purchase relatively little– a loaf of bread, say, or a gallon of milk– and it involves products that might be nice but that I don’t actually need. Cookies, for instance. Or magazines. Or drink mixes (the sort that comes in little paper packets and can be added repeatedly until the water turns to a fine slurry). It seems like they’re offering me free stuff, but in order to obtain said stuff I would be obligated to spend an often not inconsiderable sum of money.

Sometimes it’s okay. These times are when I actually might find some use for whatever’s being offered. For instance, an offer at the local big-box electronics store that tacks on some benefits when I spend at least a hundred total dollars on CDs. Chances are I’ll eventually hit that amount (music is one of my great weaknesses) and so anything on top of that is just a nice extra. This, however, is a rare happenstance.

Over time I’ve come to the conclusion that enticing me to spend money in order to save money just isn’t one of those marketing ploys that tends to attract me. This is why there are a variety of said ploys, naturally– to catch all kinds of people. What gets me is when this particular one snags my brother. ”Oh, look!” he’ll say, “Bath sponges! If I buy eighteen of them I could in fact receive twenty! What an excellent deal!” And then he buys eighteen bath sponges he’ll never use.

On the bright side, if anyone ever needs a bath sponge for some reason, he’ll have them covered.

There are many methods of engraving and almost everything can now be engraved quite easily without much effort. Laser engraving is the latest and the recent technique that is now getting very famous. Laser marker is a machine that is used to mark different materials with laser technique. Now laser engraving manufacturers have come up with new machines that can easily and conveniently engrave or mark stones without damaging or cracking them. These machines are operated under certain conditions with everything perfectly managed. The power, focus and speed of the machine must be not too high or too low. If the power or the pressure is too high it will fracture the stone, on the other hand if the power gets too low, it will not engrave the stone within the stipulated time. Similarly, all other constraints and factors need to be adjusted and aligned so that the stone doesn’t crack while engraving.

So those who are still using sandblasting and other old procedures for engraving stones must switch to laser marking machines so that they can survive in the long-run because those who are using laser machines can engrave a stone piece in seconds while those who are using older methods mark a stone in minutes.

Sudanese Higher Education

The University of DalanJ, also known as El-Dalang University, located in the city of Dalang, was established in 1994 and is part of the Sudanese government’s ongoing effort to expand opportunities in higher education throughout the nation of Sudan.

The Republic of Sudan, sometimes known as North Sudan, is located in North Africa, and is also considered part of the Middle East. Sudanese Arabic is one of over a hundred languages spoken throughout the Republic. The official languages of the country, as established in 2005, are Arabic and English. The Republic of Sudan is over 97% Islamic, primarily Sunni Muslims, including Ansar Sunnis and Khatmia Sunnis.

Other educational institutions had departments and/or faculties transferred to the University of DalanJ. Specifically, the Faculties of both Education and Agricultural Science of the University of Kordofan were transferred to it in 1994. Also, the South Kordofan Institute of Education became a part of DalanJ.
